Romans Christians Soldiers

Remember playing Romans, Christians, Soldiers during Intermediate II? It has been a staple game for that week for many, many years. It's interesting when you are dubbed a Christian and if and when you get approached by a Roman you have a chance (you have nothing to lose) to tell them about Jesus Christ----and even should the Roman turn you into the Soldiers you still have nothing to lose to tell all about Christ----the Christians come together---they sing hymns in prison together and have no worries since collectively they have each other and it is by that encouragement they help maintain their faith in Him who gives eternal life.

As we all encourage one another to VOTE ( manatawnystaffshirt@yahoo.com ) for this years Staff shirt color it becomes apparent to me that we are networking each other to vote for certain colors----that's a beautiful thing.......Let's network the Holy Spirit huh??? I have come to the conclusion that when there is a public baptism there is generally shouts of joy with clapping----I have wondered why and have to my conclusion that is inclusion.....someone has joined the SAME BELIEF that we have and it causes joy when others, through baptism show faith in God.

Let's tell the world lovingly who is King----let's show them through love who God is!

Staff Shirt Update

WOW---the names of the colors are half the fun!
Once you vote you CANNOT change your vote (sorry)!
We may have to cap the colors---you people are insane with your color combinations!
DEADLINE to VOTE is 4/20/08 @ midnite

Here's where we stand~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Conestoga Valley Makes some NOISE!

Well folks it seems like the good brothers and sisters of Conestoga Valley Church of Christ are making some NOISE.....some of the members of CV are seriously trying to sway the vote for Carolina Blue Tee with a Navy font. Some people have even tried to change their vote after casting it once and that's a no-no!

Some members of a church far, far away from Conestoga are plotting to vote @ the last minute and take everyone by suprise......time will tell.....

The trick is to network the color----get people involved, it's exactly like telling others about Christ---IMAGINE THAT!
Don't just tell them what color to vote for----tell them how to live forever!

Superbowl Champs

That was an A M A Z I N G game, amazing.

I bleed Manatawny GREEN and EAGLES green.....I was cheering for Eli to win. Lo and behold Tank Daniels who plays for the G-Men and is a Harding Alum is a SUPERBOWL champ. The only image I could find is of him in an Eagles uniform.....congrats Tank.....Church of Christ is in the HOUSE!!!!

quality of LIFE

If you are reading this your quality of life is amazing!

You probably have running water--hot & cold

You have probably never been hungry---

our life is funny----Do we have idols today????

What would they be?

When @ Camp Manatawny--when we spend "our" week, typically we do not see or hear television-radio-recorded music-any news media

When I am @ camp I do not drive off camp property so I do not sit @ any traffic lights ( I let others make Wal-Mart and coffee runs).

We talk to each other.
We listen to each other.

Our quality of life @ camp is people oriented.

How can we transform our daily American life to reflect the same people oriented quality of life that we experience @ camp?

Camp means many things to many people---Camp Manatawny's forte' is Chirst.

If we all reflected Christ daily and died to ourselves and lived for Him daily our quality of life would be life changing and not just for ourselves.

That's all for now---

Camp Staff shirt color choices will be coming VERY soon---stay tuned....

no apologies

will you leave earth w/o any apologies?????

WILL YOU???!!!!!!

Love someone---go ahead----

ENCOURAGE OTHERS
try it

please---this world is not ours!

today--not tomorrow

Our lives a sweet worship to the Almighty One who gives life-

ETERNAL LIFE----imagine that----no....REALLY imagine it.

Where do you build your treasures?

What plans are YOU making for the life to be?

Are we judgung others?
Are we envious, greedy and sinful?

Rest easy my brothers and sisters---for if you have given your life to HIM, he has extened His arms further and sacrificed His life for us...ALL of US.
Let others know. Time is precious for we know what not tomorrow brings.
Take advantage of NOW
tell the world
eternal life---IT'S REAL!

r u out there?

GOD is good...

random pics

I look at God's work and see beauty....incredible, delicious beauty.

I look at you and I see something more beautiful then anything I have ever seen. I see a person made in God's very, own image! Let's look at each other and see Him.

last nite

Conestoga, Collingswood & some unknown fellow believers

We are one, tonight! And we're singing it out!We are one, tonight! And we're dreaming out loud!

music

This week is another concert, a rock concert.....I love music.....most of us do.

This year I have seen a lot of live music...I make it a point too. Music inspires.....creates....and allows our emotions to become apparent. Music is a form of communication and expression.

Friday nite is a concert.....Switchfoot and Reliant K.....I love Switchfoot....they rock and their lyrics are cool. They also crossover to mainstream.......yup, both bands are deemed Christian.
I am not one for LABELS, but there is no denying.....these folks believe in Jesus Christ.

anyway...I am about 10 minutes outside of center city Philly and my exquisite wife will be there to pick me up off the Amtrak train and it is just about 9:00 PM on Monday nite......

I am rockin' outta here!

peace.

last weekend

NOTHING

Camp.
What I miss is the "nothing" of camp.

Camp Manatawny----doing nothing, but having a GREAT time!

Plotting "pranks" that are not pranks, but are!
Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner
Flag raising
LIFE 101------Camp is as close to the Garden of Eden as I may ever get.

No AGENDA
just Christ= LOVE
isn't that camp?
miss it?
I do!!!
walking back from campfire-----just strolling along----time has no meaning.
I MISS CAMP!
I MISS CAMP!!
I MISS CAMP!!!

life here in the "world".....it's not what He wanted.
life here in school-work-leisure
it's not life........................it's the world....the world is not our home.
HEAVEN is HOME.
live it.

connect---disconnect

connection.......coming together
disconnect......coming apart
today I am bothered by some information passed my way.
turns out that some people did not agree with some other people and they chose to forgo an event when they really didn't know what the event was about.

I heard this quote on tv last nite and it wasn't on a sitcom:

"You can't lead people if you don't love people,

you can't save people if you don't serve people."

so my dilemma is: how do I approach these people? how do I get them on my page....that's what I've been thinking, BUT the question s/b how do I get on their page???? How do I see what they see. Nope this post has no inherent bearing on camp.....it has to do with my church.

so I need to step down and think/pray about how to approach this group of people and how to best serve them.

Credit where credit is due- The quote above is from an interesting cat---Cornel West who is some type of professor @ Princeton.

y'all should know my quote by now----love to love & give to give

peace

camp changes people

Tattoos

If I ever got a tattoo it would probably be this:

My dear brothers, take note of this:

Everyone should be quick to listen,

slow to speak and slow to become angry,
